2017 BBQ Thanks

Thanks to many of our chapter members and friends, our 2017 BBQ Fundraiser was a huge success. By all reports, a great time was had by all.  Once again, this was one of the most successful fundraisers we have ever had.

We owe thanks (mutliple thanks in many cases) to a long list of chapter members and friends - for attending; for helping to get supplies, set up, run, and/or clean up after the event; for donating supplies; for bringing a side dish an/or a dessert; and for bidding generously on our silent auction items.  I'd try to call them all out individually but I am almost certain to miss someone or something so I am not going to try.  I do hope everyone knows we greatly appreciate your support and we know this event would not be possible without it.

With that said, we owe a special thanks to pitmaster Mark Friedrichs for making the BBQ possible and to our silent auction donors for making it a successful fundraiser.  Nearly all of the money we raise comes from the silent aucton and that would not be possible without the generosity of our donors.  I urge all chapter members to patronize and/or thank the following donors:

Hog Feathers BBQ - Mark Friedrichs
Insominac Guide Service - Dan Schaefer
MacElroy Painting - Brian MacElroy
Ramsay Flies
- Henry Ramsay
Sky Blue Outfitters
- Rick Nyles & Nick Raftas
The Sporting Gentleman - Christine Sharbaugh
Temple Fork Outfitters - Ed Jaworowski

2015 Stream Cleanup

On Saturday, April 18th, DMTU volunteers participated in the annual CRC Stream Cleanup along Chester Creek in Aston, PA. Our usual site was in use so we cleaned a section farther downstream. Jennifer Nichols was our CRC site coordinator. Our guys filled six bags of trash and pulled four tires from the stream plus other assorted larger items. The weather was good and we attended the CRC picnic at Ridley Park afterward.

Women's Fly Fishing Day

On Saturday, April 11, 2015 the Delaware Valley Women’s Fly Fishing Association, in cooperation with Delaware County Field and Stream held and all day festival of everything fly-fishing for women and girls interested in learning about fly fishing.  Members of DMTU turned out to assist with  individual casting instruction and on-stream practice in Chester Creek. Check out http:// for more information on the Association.
